Thank you to all the parents, children and staff who made the Halloween discos a real success. The children enjoyed themselves without being silly and we all appreciate that. A special thanks to Mrs Knuckey who organised everything and also to Mr Turner who returned to Rushcroft to spin us some Halloween tunes. Scary pictures below...

We had the draw today for everyone who brought in their sponsor money for the Bean Bag Grab and Dash. There was much excitement in the hall as the randomiser chose names of prize winners. The final amount raised was £2531.95 which is a fantastic total. Thank you to everyone and especially the wonderful Mrs Jennings who coordinated everything over the last number of weeks.

  • Football Shirt Appeal Update

Wed 13 Aug 2014 Mr Coyle

Earlier on this year you may remember that we collected old football shirts as part of an appeal for children in Uganda. The response was fantastic and I am delighted to say that the organiser, Helen Whittaker, has returned from Uganda with lots of positive things to say about her experience. Please click the link below to find out more and if you look closely, you'll even see one of the children wearing a Latics top...which must have come from Rushcroft!!

  • Niamh Returns

Tue 24 Jun 2014 Mr Coyle
We were delighted to see one of our former pupils come back to visit us with some great news. Niamh Boulton, who left in 2009, has been picked to play for England Under 16s handball team at a tournament in Sweden. Niamh was one of our sports stars when she was here and was the first winner of the sports personality of the year award for her efforts in football, rugby, swimming, athletics and probably a lot more! We are delighted to see her doing so well and hopefully she'll return to help coach some of our budding young sports stars next year.

We kicked off our World Cup activities in style by having a flag making afternoon. Groups of children from different classes met up to make the flags of the 32 countries participating in the World Cup. There was a lovely atmosphere in all classrooms and the results will look fantastic in the hall when the flags are displayed. Thanks to Miss Mears for organising. Some pictures below...
