Autumn

Autumn Term report

This term saw the election of the Planet Protectors from each class. The children had to prepare a speech about why they wanted to be a Planet Protector and represent their class. Two children were elected to form a committee.

Some of the responsibilities of our council include:

  • Chairing meetings for their class and taking down their ideas
  • Sharing information about campaigns the Planet Protectors are taking part in
  • Making sure the school grounds are encouraging for nature
  • Representing the school at events and meeting with other children
  • Hosting assemblies to inform our friends about campaigns
  • Carrying out eco surveys
  • Reporting to governors and leaders of the school
  • Maintaining the veg beds for the school

Planet Protectors have refreshed the school eco-audit, identifying existing strengths and areas for further development across biodiversity, litter, recycling, water and wildlife habitats. Findings have been used to identify pupil-led priorities for the year ahead.
