In 'The Tiny Seed' story the seeds are growing naturally transported by the wind but does your child know we can also plant seeds ourselves to grow our own flowers? Have they ever planted seeds to grow things such as sunflowers or beans? Watch this short video below and discuss what they notice about the steps involved with planting a seed.

CBeebies: Topsy and Tim - Remember When... Planting Sunflower Seeds

Once a seed has been planted it will start its very own life cycle (ask your child if they can remember the life cycle of a chicken we learnt about recently in school).

Below are some pictures of a life cycle of a sunflower plant...but they are all muddled up. Can your child explain to you which order the pictures should go in and why they think that? What comes first? What happens next?
