Compare and contrast
As part of the 'Understanding The World' Development Matters curriculum in Reception children need to be able to talk about differences in relation to living things and make observations of animals and explain why some things occur, and talk about changes.
To finish off our learning about life cycles I would like your child to compare and contrast the different lifecycles they know about.
So far this year we have looked at ...
the life cycle of a chick
the life cycle of a frog
the life cycle of a butterfly
Can they tell you what is the same about the different life cycles (compare)?
How are the life cycles different (contrast)?
What do they notice about any similarities? or any differences?
Which animal have they enjoyed learning about most?
