Year 2 went on a trip to Castleshaw to help us learn about the different types of habitats! We looked at stuffed animals and discussed their habitats and how they have adapted to live there. Then we got to go on a blustery walk to see a badger sett and along the way we saw molehills, cows and sheep. After the walk we were all feeling a little hungry so we ate our lunch in a yurt. Once lunch was over, we were ready to start our pond dipping experience. You wouldn't believe what we caught! There were tadpoles, 3 spined stickleback, a cased caddisfly and even a frog! After some pond dipping we split off into groups and got to take part in a little experiment to see who could make the best habitat for a hedgehog. While we were waiting for the results of our experiment, Year 2 got to play on the adventure playground! We had lots of fun! Thank you to all the adults who came with us to make our day so special!
