Year 2 News 25.2.18

What a busy week we have had! We started the week off by finishing our messages in a bottle. We had to think about what we would need to survive, if we were pirates marooned on a desert island! In English this week we revised some grammar because we are finding it difficult to remember the different word classes. We also started to write a repetitive poem all about animals using alliteration! In Maths this week we have started learning about fractions and 3D shapes. We have learnt how to find a 1/2, 1/3 and 1/4 of a shape. In Science we have looked at the different food groups and we have started to write our own food diary to see if we have a balanced diet. In Art we designed our very own pirate flag and over the next few weeks we will have a go at making it.

Congratulations to yellow team for getting the most team points last term. They enjoyed a fun afternoon with Bouncy Ben as a reward! I wonder which team will win this term?

Next Thursday is World Book Day! Year 2 are taking part in a reading challenge and we can't wait to dress up as our favourite book character.
