The children in Year 1 have really been enjoying our practical maths this week. We have moved on from learning to recognise 2D and 3D shapes to make a repeating pattern of shapes. This week we have begun our measurement work by comparing objects which are taller/ shorter and longer/ shorter.
We have experimented with measuring using units such as paperclips and lollysticks . Then we moved on to using body parts to measure.
In our topic work we have been finding out about Neil Armstrong. We are currently using Talk for Writing methods to learn to write a report all about the first Moon Landing
