Rainforest Dancing 16th November
On Wednesday 14th November, Year 6 completed a Mathematics enrichment day all about Vikings!
We received a letter from Erik, the viking leader, who'd had a problem with his shield makers; he asked us to make amendments and create shields that his soldiers could use. We had to use lots of Mathematics skills to work out the radius and diameter of the shields as well as figure by how much the previous designs were too small or large. Once we had figured this out, we began work on designing and creating our shields: we made our own compasses to draw the circles and we planned and created beautiful designs. I hope Erik is happy with the results! :)
