Thanks to Sophie, Georgia and Megan for helping to organise the Fairtrade activities in school this week. Also, a big well done to Mr Frog for being writer of the week. His hard work is really paying off and we hope Mrs Sheridan hasn't forgotten to order him some Sats test papers. He'll do really well!
This week in Maths we have put our dividing skills to the test by answering division word problems. We have also been working on telling the time with Mrs Banham. In English we have started to write an adventure story with a historical setting and our knowledge of the Romans has been very useful. Play rehearsals are improving and Miss Mears would like to thank the individuals that have worked really hard to memorise their lines.
In year 5 we have continued our letters to the governors, trying to persuade them to allow us to have a school pet. We have also been learning how to rotate shapes in Maths and Miss Groome was impressed with how quickly we picked it up. In Science we have started learning about plants and the parts of the flower - next week we will be dissecting daffodils to look closely at their parts. Our swimming skills are improving, well done to Megan and Aeryn who have overcome their fears and did really well this week.
