Year 3 have been doing lots of work on adventure stories. We have been reading 'Where The Wild Things Are' and the children have been writing descriptions and letters about Max's adventures. We continued our work on fractions and have made our own fractions museums. The children designed their own and then visited everybody else's museums!
4 school days to go before Sats. So instead why not take your mind off it by having a look at the Lightwater Valley website here or the PGL website here.
This week in year 5 we have been looking at rotation and translation in Numeracy. We used beebots and had to negotiate them around tricky courses. In Literacy, we finished off our Shakespeare topic by comparing our modern Romeo and Juliet story to the real one. We were able to work out who was who and now have a tricky quiz to complete for our homework. We have all made our own gas mask cases ready for VE day on Thursday, where we will be visiting the Shawside nursing home to help them celebrate.
Year 4 have been working extremely hard to produce some excellent pieces of writing. This week we have focused on writing an information text about the Tudors. In doing so we have found out about Tudor ships, food and clothes. In Science with Mrs Majerski we have been investigating the effects of friction by completing exciting activities. We are looking forward to continuing this next week.
