On Wednesday afternoon, Year 3 joined lots of other schools from Oldham at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester. It is a fabulous venue! We took our instruments with us as we were going to get to play with the world famous Halle Orchestra! Mr Leedale & several other music teachers from Oldham were there & we had a quick warm-up when we arrived. Then we were introduced to the orchestra & the concert began. The orchestra played some pieces for us &, as Erin said, they were very good! We got chance to join in with some of their pieces, either playing our instruments or singing along & doing some actions. Some of our parents & grandparents were able to come along with us to sit in the audience & listen. It was a brilliant afternoon! I hope we get the chance to go again sometime.
In year 4 this week we have been continuing our 'talk for writing' on The Lion and the Unicorn. It has really improved our writing and most of us are using interesting fronted adverbials with punctuation! In Maths we have been looking at money and have planned a tricky party with Mrs Shirtcliffe. We finally finished our Teddies this week, their little t-shirts look great! In Science we have been looking a the proper symbols to use when drawing a circuit - the boys won the race to pair the symbols up with their names. Well done lads!
