In year 5 this week, we have finished reading the modern version of Romeo and Juliet. It was really good and we then compared the characters to those in the original Shakespeare version. It has been a great topic and we have all really enjoyed it. We finished the topic with a short assessment where we had to continue a playscript. In Maths, some of us have been working really hard on our times tables while the rest of us were converting units of measurements. In topic, we have been working hard on our Greek vase pictures. They are coming along nicely.
In Science this week we learnt how the ear works. Miss Pugh taught us the scientific names for the different parts of the ear and then we got to act out how sound travels through the ear. Look at the photos below to see how we got on. In Topic we started to look at some of the mills around Oldham and what they were used for. We even investigated the different types of machinery that could have been used in the mills.
