In Science we've been looking at forces and spent Monday afternoon investigating how different surfaces affect the amount of friction between the surface and an object. We discussed the fact that larger objects (for example a heavy box) gave us results with greater differences whereas it was harder to see much of a difference with something like a shoe.
Well done to our spelling champions for this term. Pics below.
In year 5 this week we have been trying to piece together Michael Rosen poetry - creating some interesting poems in the process! We have created a Terracotta Army for our final topic project - a huge map of China!
This week at Dunwood Park, we learnt how to make dens. We were shown how to use the shape of a tree to help form the basic structure of a den. We also learnt how to make a fire and boiled some water using a Kelly Kettle...then we had hot chocolate!
Fractions, fractions and more fractions! Using the Cuisenaire Rods, Year 4 have looked at halves and quarters. Look at the photos below to see how we got on. Year 4 also got the chance to borrow some of Receptions chicks before they went back to the farm. We watched them closely and even got to hold them!
