In year 4 this week, we have been working on different methods of multiplication. We started the week on grid method and have moved through to column method. Some of us even managed to use column method for 4 digit numbers, Mrs Spence was very impressed with us! In English, we have started to look at fables and the morals behind them. In PE, we have been doing circuit training to try and improve our fitness levels and we are definitely improving our technique. Some of us even challenged Mrs Spence to a wall squat competition and held it for the same length of time as her! We have had a big focus on reading this week, with extra guided reading sessions and individual reading and already we are showing signs of improvement. We have spent several afternoons working on our comprehension skills and have learnt the difference between literal and inference questions.
Disaster has struck. We had a brilliant time at Castleshaw, despite the weather, and it was great to see everyone working as a team and being very positive about the rain, the cold, the mud and the wind. Unfortunately, despite lots of photos being taken, the SD card somehow got corrupted between Castleshaw and Rushcroft and there are no pictures to show for such a lovely day out. Well, at least we have our memories, and you never know, there may be another opportunity between now and summer.
