As part of our Ancient Egyptian topic, Year 3 have been making canopic jars. These were used during the mummification process to store the organs removed from the body before it was mummified. Each canopic jar featured a different head for its lid, such as the head of the jackal god, Anubis. If you take a look inside the canopic jars made by Year 3, you may make the gruesome discovery of some lungs, a liver, stomach, or sections of the brain which would have been removed from the body using a hook inserted through the nose!
We had such an interesting week last week. We had visitors from MIND and SOPHIE, both of whom talked about things that affect us in the outside world such as how to look after our mental health and how not to judge people on their appearance. We also carried on with our DT work which has been challenging but fun and our play rehearsals are going well. It's only just over two weeks away!
