Year 4

We have begun to study persuasive writing and enjoyed trying to persuade snowmen into the kitchen and car buyers to buy an old banger. You can see pictures below of our art lesson with Mrs Taylor; we are almost ready to have a go at painting in the style of Monet. Well done to everybody who was picked for the hockey team; we hope you enjoy yourselves and do your best at the tournament on Tuesday.

Year 5

This week we have been looking at the world map to find out where China is.  We discovered that China has borders with several other countries to the west and that the eastern side is a long coast line.

In English we have been studying a narrative poem called The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes.

We were feature detectives for a lesson and worked together to find:

repetition

alliteration

powerful verbs

metaphors

rhyme

vivid adjectives

similes

The poem has many verses!  We then tried to remember the order of events and sequence them in the correct place.
