We have had a sad week in year 5 as we saw the death of one of our fish, Midnight-Shadow. Miss Groome was impressed with how well we handled this, we will miss the fish greatly. As part of our topic work this week, Mrs Majerski taught us a Jitterbug dance, have a look at some of our pictures below to see how we got on. Also, our trip to Shawside nursing home for VE day was in the paper, so if you haven't already seen them, have a look at the photos we took!
Year 4 have been using their persuasive language to try and get their way this week. We started the week by trying to persuade Henry VIII not to behead Anne Boleyn. We then had 5 cute and fury visitors and we tried out our persuasive language on their owner. Look at the pictures below to find out who our special visitors were. In Science this week we made our own parachutes to investigate air resistance. Look below to find out how we got on.
Year 3 have had a busy week learning about Egyptian pharaohs. We researched pharaohs and looked at ancient Egyptian society and how the pharaoh made all the decisions and laws with the help of advisors. We thought about what kind of a pharaoh we would be and held an election! We chose a new pharaoh every day and with each new pharaoh came some new rules that we had to abide by. We also planted some pumpkin seeds as part of our science topic. We planted broad beans in different conditions to test the effects that water and light have on the health and growth of a plant.
