It was our turn to perform a Numbers Fun song in assembly this week. We sang beautifully and learnt how many days are in each month as we did so. See how we got on in the video below. Year 4 have also been experimenting with different materials in Art. We used oil pastels, watercolours and soft pastels to try and blend colours together.
In year 5 this week, we have been continuing our artwork looking at the artist 'Munch' and his use of movement through pictures. We are using oil pastels to create a winter scene in a similar style to Munch. We also continued working on our Christmas lanterns, they are looking fantastic. We have all made our square based pyramid frame and have started putting the 'Christmasy' touch to them! Miss Groome even let us listen to Christmas music early this year...just to get us in the mood! We have started looking at fractions in maths and have finished writing our newspaper reports after interviewing a registrar from a hospital earlier in the week - she looked remarkably like our teacher, we think she must have a twin!
We have spent a number of afternoons concentrating on our art work this week. The artist we have been looking at is called Paul Klee and his style was mainly abstract. We enjoyed taking our dot for a walk and having a go at his Castle and Sun picture. This leads us nicely into next week when we will make a class composition city-scape with a wintry touch!
