Year 6

We have begun writing our Aztec recounts and did a good job editing them later in the week. Well done to everyone who tried their best when we had our maths assessment. The results are encouraging and you will get better and better if you learn from your mistakes and keep working hard. Buddies are on the horizon so remember that your attitude needs to be spot on not just in class but around school too.

Year 4

Indiana Jones is nothing compared to the exquisite archaeologists in Year 4! We have been digging for bones and investigating what animal they could belong to. See pictures below.  We have also been busy writing the first paragraph of a story involving Australian animals. There are wombats going walkabout and kookaburras doing karate!

Year 5

This week in year 5 we have been writing paragraphs for our explanation texts. We are writing about space and really thinking about how to structure a paragraph using excellent sentences. We have learnt why we have seasons on Earth and have compared the scientific reasons to the Greek's version in their myth about Demeter and her daughter Persephone. In Maths we have been working hard at multiplying using the grid method, with many of us completing complicated decimal sums and word problems.
