Year 4 started off the week with a school trip to Bramall Hall. Bramall Hall is a magnificent Tudor manor in Stockport. During the day we got to meet the mistress of the house, who dressed us up like Tudor mistresses or masters, she was extremely strict! Once dressed in the appropriate clothing we tried our hand in writing with quills and ink, making a nosegay out of different herbs and Tudor dancing. We also ate a Tudor lunch; there was no fizzy pop back then! The adults that came with us had to dress up too; they were our servants for the day. Look at the photos below to see how we got on. On Wednesday we all took part in a mini World Cup tournament, the winning team was England! Miss Mears would also like to say well done to the children who performed at the Queen Elizabeth Hall with the band.
In year 5 this week, we have been very busy. On Monday we went to Castleshaw and had to solve lots of problems in our groups. We even had to lead our partner through a wood, but they had a blindfold on! Then we did a little bit of orienteering in the afternoon. We learnt how to set our map and to use observational skills in order to find our way! Miss Groome even let us go off on our own, although she could see all of us from the top of the valley! Check out our pictures to see the fun we had.
In year 6 we have been working hard on our acting skills and most of us have learnt our lines for the play now. Our play is about a residential school trip, which we haven't experienced before, so we are really excited about our trip to PGL this weekend. We will not only have loads of fun completing different activities, but also we will get loads of ideas for our school play.
