Year 3
In English the children have been using the story map below to perform and retell a newspaper recount. In Maths the children have been investigating acute, obtuse and right angles inside and outside the classroom using their angle testers. They have been spotting angles in lots of objects every day. They also practised their 3,4 and 8 times tables in a Maths relay race. In Science the children have investigated the function of the stem.
Year 4
We had a brilliant time at Martin Mere on Wednesday. What a great day out it is. We saw some otters, all kinds of different birds and had great fun in the play area. The children's behaviour was exemplary and their enthusiasm very refreshing. A big thank you to everyone who helped us have a great school trip. Video below...
Year 5
As part of our WW2 topic we have been creating models of Anderson shelters. We have tried to make them as realistic as possible by thinking about how people lived during the 1940s. You will see in some of our models that the washing was still left on the line to dry and that only part of the house remains standing, whilst the upstairs rooms have been destroyed. Many people built an Anderson shelter in their back garden and it was the main place to take shelter during an air raid attack. Lots of people grew vegetables to help with the 'Dig for Victory' campaign.
