Year 3

This week has been assessment week in Year 3. We have been hard at work showing our understanding of the maths and English work that we have been learning about this half-term. Whilst it was a lot of work, Year 3 really impressed with their mature attitude and perseverance throughout. We rounded off the week with some art (we continued our block printing work) and our reward of 'chocolate time', which we earned by working hard all week. Well done Year 3!

On a lighter note, you can see a short video of our very first whole class brass performance of  'Hot Cross Buns'. Isn't it impressive?

Year 4

Another busy week for us! We have done our writing assessments which were stories about 'Why animals are the way they are'. Well done to Stevie, who actually made Mrs Spence laugh out loud with his story! We have been looking at expanded column subtraction in Maths and have done really well with it. In ICT this week, we revised everything we have learnt over the term and created comic strips all about how to stay safe online! We also made Roman coins with Mrs Banham, we used Roman designs on one side and put Roman numerals on the other. We are hoping to use these in maths lessons in the future. A huge thank you to Amie, Hannah, Olivia, Milly, Kimberley and Quarrat, who have stayed in at play-times to create a display for our science board. Check out the picture below to see it!

Year 6

We really enjoyed meeting up with our buddies this week and are hoping to see a lot more of them. Pictures to follow soon. Well done to our rugby players who were very unlucky not to go through in their tournament on Wednesday. Our biographies are now complete and we've enjoyed writing about Bob Starman and all his fantastic achievements! We've enjoyed looking at area in maths and are looking forward to working on perimeters and volumes next.
