This week we finished writing our adventure stories with a historical setting in English. We really enjoyed being creative with the story lines and using descriptive language. Play rehearsal has been going well and next week we will be introducing props.
this week we have finished our letters to the governors and we are hoping that we will manage to persuade them to allow us a school pet. In maths we have been playing with numbers, developing our confidence and number sense so that we can make calculation mentally. In science this week we learnt about the parts of a flower, after we knew what the parts were called and why plants have them, we dissected daffodils to see the parts for real. Miss Groome was really impressed with how carefully we did this, keeping all parts in tact so that we could label them. We really enjoyed this lesson and love it when Miss Groome got a mini microscope out to look at the plant close up - it was really interesting.
Well done this week to Adam, Charles and Thomas who all did the best for their level in our maths assessments. Also, a big thank you to Tom, Taylor and Thomas (again) for their commitment top the cross country team. We're all very proud of your achievements and you gave everything you had for the school.
