Year 4’s week started with an enjoyable trip to the cinema in Rochdale to watch Ten Pieces. The film showed ten famous pieces of classical music and described what stories they tell. We loved it so much the music was stuck in our heads for days. In English we have started looking at poems. We experimented with using expression in our voices when reciting different poems. We even recorded ourselves using Book Creator on the iPads. On Friday we had a brilliant afternoon with Mrs Jennings and her team of helpers, trying to complete The Bean Bag Grab and Dash obstacle course. Look at the photos below to see how we got on. Don’t forget to bring in your sponsor forms and money on Wednesday 15th October.
Science was fun this week. We carried out fair tests on the bounce of balls. We discussed the variables which could be changed: some people changed the type of ball whereas others changed the surface of the bounce. Recording the results was tricky but some groups even managed to find the average of their bounces which was an unexpected bonus. Well done to everyone for a good lesson.
