We have been learning about the famous achievements made by Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin and their journey to space with Michael Collins. The children were fascinated by original film footage of the Moon Landings. We found out many interesting facts on the NASA website and used the internet to safely search for information. The children have combined their historical research with our current work in English. In Year 1 children are expected to be able to write in sentences with a capital letter, "finger spaces" and a full stop. They each have an individual target for the number of words they are aiming to write. Parents, please feel free to come in to class and read their excellent reports about the Apollo 11 mission.
