We had a lovely week this week. In science, we learnt about evaporation and set up an experiment to see which liquid evaporates quickest. In PE, we proved that our catching skills are coming on and we also had a go at football and benchball. Art with Mrs Jennings continues to be a joy and we finally finished our own take on the Red Riding Hood story. Year 4 have settled in really well this term and the adults who work with them are delighted with their attitude and the happy vibe in the classroom!
In year 3 this week we have started looking at addition with renaming. We have used different methods and resources but lots of us quite like the column method. We have been writing our final part to our adapted stories and Mrs Spence is very impressed with our creativity and lots of us are improving our handwriting. In Science we have been given 'clients' and we are busy looking at their diets to see what sort of fruit/veg portions they eat during a week and what their sugar intake is like. Over the next few weeks we will be working on what advice to give them to improve their diet and exercise regime. In history we have been looking at the tomb of the boy king Tutankamun, which was really interesting. It's pretty impressive that his mummified body is still intact over 5000 years later.
Over the past few weeks in ICT we have been thinking about all the fun and useful ways we can use technology in our daily lives. We have also thought about what steps to take in order to keep ourselves safe and what choices we can make. This week we have started to plan a 'Stay Safe on the Internet' board game for other children to play. We have chosen our teams in readiness for this week's lesson when we begin to design and make our games.
