Key Stage 2 News 18.3.18

Year 3

In year 3 this week we have finished writing our playscripts ready to move onto poetry next week. In Science we have learnt all about fossils and how they were created, we even made our own coprolites (fossilised faeces), which was rather messy but very interesting. We also had a visit from Carl, the chocolate man! It was fantastic, we made chocolate lollies and cakes and learnt all about where chocolate begins its journey. Mrs Spence was amazed at our memory for the facts about the cocoa pods and how they are harvested. Check out our photos below to see what fun we had!

Year 4

We have had a busy week, the highlight of which was the visit of Carl, the chocolatier, who kept us enthralled with his chocolate facts and figures as well as showing us how to make a chocolate cake and chocolate lolly. It all led to some very imaginative writing about a fictional visit to Chocolate World where all manner of mishaps and disasters took place. As Carl said, chocolate is OK as long as it's part of a balanced diet and as long as we look after our teeth and get regular exercise.
