In year 3 this week, we had a visit from Mr B, who brought in all sorts of interesting things for us to look at. We handled real and replica Stone - Iron Age artifacts, including cave bear bones and hunting tools. We learned all about how the human species changed over time and how hunting changed to farming. We also looked at the different materials used within the different ages and had to sort them according to their properties. After lunch, we were outside for a spear throwing and bow and arrow competition. We had to shoot at the 'woolly mammoth', 'cave bear' and 'leopard' targets and got points for hitting them and using cave man war cries. We finished the day having our pictures taken with a woolly rhino and with a quiz. It was a fabulous day. Check out our pictures below.
We had a great time at Martin Mere and would like to have spent much longer there if we'd been able to. Thank you to everyone who made our visit so enjoyable. Pictures below.
