Year 4 have hit the ground running since we've been back, carrying on with our explanation texts, dividing with remainders, learning about our new spellings and practising new songs with Mr Leedale in music. We're looking forward to all the new things we'll be learning about this term including our new science topic (sound), writing another narrative in Literacy and drawing in the style of Quentin Blake (art).
Happy new year everyone! In year 3 this week we have got straight back into our work and have been practicing dividing 2 digit numbers with the help of Diennes equipment. In English we have started looking at the art of persuasion and have had our very own debates about whether or not we should have school uniform and playtimes. It was really interesting hearing the different arguments and persuasive phrases. In Geography, we have started to look at the UK, looking at what countries makes up the United Kingdom and what regions there are. We learned that we live in the North West and that our capital city is London.
