Welcome back to school. I hope you all had a well-earned rest and you enjoyed Christmas and the New Year however you spent the holidays. In both Key Stage 1 classrooms the children have begun working on new topics and it is really great to see staff and children alike enjoying their work.
In Year 1 the children are learning all about France. They began their studies by hunting for famous landmarks. As you can see Wally helped Mr Edwards to find The Champs Elysees, The Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe to name but a few ..... take a look mes amis....
Later in the week during Mathematics the children got to grips with weighing various objects using non- standard units of measure. It is apparent by the photographs above that the children were engrossed in their activity.
This week in Year 2 we have begun a topic of study voted for by the children- The Human Body. We began the week writing adventure stories in English. We've been making blood bottles as part of our learning about the heart and the circulatory system. Ask anyone in Year 2 to name the 4 constituents of our blood and they will know! In our Mathematics lessons we have been adding coins to make a total. We are joined this half term by Mrs Majerski- a teacher who has joined us in the run up to Key stage 1 SATS and Miss Farrell who is on six week teaching pratice. Welcome to the Team ladies!
