The cricket team took part in an indoor/outdoor tournament at Crompton House. We beat Thornham thanks in particular to some excellent bowling and then our superior batting helped us to defeat EC St James in the second game. This meant we were up against St Mary's in the final. Facing some very good bowling, we struggled and looked down and out at the end of our innings. Things looked even bleaker when St Mary's began scoring runs in their innings. However, the lads never gave up and we gradually clawed our way back into the game. With two balls to go, St Mary's just needed not to lose their wicket; Rushcroft needed to take it. The first ball was blocked and then with the very final ball, Jack Meylan bowled straight and true to claim that vital wicket! We decided to share first with St Mary's and both schools should be congratulated on a great game played very sportingly!
