Reception class have been busy using seasonal ingredients to make soup! They carefully prepared their ingredients by cutting them into small pieces before they were added to the pan and boiled. Delicious! To keep with the autumnal / halloween theme the children chose to include pumpkins as one of their ingredients!
This week, Year 1 have been working on halving. You can see some of the children halving even numbers by sharing. In our English work we have been working on describing settings as part of our work on fairy tales. You can see the children creating their settings and then labelling them with adjectives and descriptions. We finished the week by creating our own planets as part of our work on the solar system.
This week Year 2 have been investigating animals which in live in different biomes as part of their topic on 'The Animal World'. The children decided to investigate animals which live in desert biomes, such as the gerbil. Mrs Naylor arranged for two gerbils to be brought to school. The children observed the animals and wrote a list of fantastic adjectives to describe them, which they then used in their writing later in the day. How exciting!
