A trip to Dunwood Park in 1912

To finish our "How does your garden grow?" topic we went on a trip down memory lane to 1912 when Dunwood Park was opened for the people of Shaw and Crompton. We learned about the facilities which were included over a hundred years ago to enable workers in the mills and colliery of the town to enjoy some respite from the working day. We looked to see which of the original features were still there and which have been added more recently. We also searched  for native British trees and plants. Thanks to Parents,  family members and friends who joined us for a pleasant and informative morning. Thanks as well for enabling your children to dress in millworkers' and miners' costumes. They looked great!
