A Gruffalo, self portraits and dancing skeletons

One frosty day this week the children in Reception class all put on their wellington boots and went for a long walk. They were looking for the Gruffalo and his friends. As you can see the boys and girls each had a sheet to read. When the children found a book character's name they had to place a sticker over the matching word on their treasure hunt sheet.

Meanwhile in the Year 1 classroom the children have been looking at their own faces in a mirror. They have been carefully sketching different parts of their faces in preparation for drawing self- portraits next week.

In Year 2 the children have had another busy week. In our "My Body" topic we have moved on from the circulatory system to learning about the skeleton. In our Mathematics lesson we have been understanding the links between repeated addition and multiplication. We have also been practising recording multiplication sums using the "x" sign.We have been working particularly hard during our Developing English time. You will have noticed the progress your child is making in their reading and comprehension as a result of all this hard work!
